Extended Care
Overview
CRCS provides a before and after school program to accommodate parents'
work schedules. The program operates from 6:45-8:00 a.m. and 3:15 to 6:00 p.m. Parents
are expected to pick up their child(ren) by 6:00 p.m. in the evening.
Dress Code
Regular school attire is also worn for extended care. Children in grades
2 through 8 may change into appropriate play clothes. Children who participate in
events outside of school (e.g. football or gymnastics) may also be permitted to
change.
Behavior Management
While extended care is a less structured environment, students are still
expected to follow certain rules for reasons of safety and so that everyone can
have an enjoyable experience in extended care. Our workers follow a similar structure
to the school. Each class has a discipline hierarchy that they enforce.
Activities
From 3:30-4:15, K-2nd grade students are involved in a variety
of activities that include free play, watching videos, story time, etc. During this
same time, 3rd-8th grade students have a study hall to work
on homework.
Students have the opportunity to visit the computer lab once a week. For an additional fee, students may also sign up for a variety of activities throughout the year such as Karate, Mad Science, and small group tutoring.
From 4:15-4:30, snack is provided for all groups.
From 4:30-5:30, students normally are outside on the playground or fields.
At 5:30 any remaining students come inside to the main building to wait for pick-up.
